Platform Runner

Run and jump through procedurally generated platforms. How far can you go?

About this game

Platform Runner is a free browser arcade game in the Ice Cheetah library. Designed in the spirit of the classic 8-bit and 16-bit cabinets, it runs entirely in your browser with crisp pixel art, responsive controls (keyboard or touch), and a high-score system that persists across the session. There is no install, no permissions, and no account required — just click and play. The game ships with a how-to-play overlay and a category guide covering controls, objectives, and tips.

How to play

  1. Open the game from the Arcade category tile in the lobby.
  2. Read the in-game How to Play overlay for controls (keyboard arrows + spacebar are the most common).
  3. Mobile / touch input is supported on every arcade game; on-screen controls appear on small viewports.
  4. Game-over and pause states are saved within the session — you can step away and come back.
  5. Your high score is shown above the play field and stored locally.

Tips and strategy

  • Practice mode and difficulty selection (where available) let you learn patterns before chasing scores.
  • Speed scaling kicks in at higher levels; learn the early levels cold before pushing.
  • The lobby's Arcade category has a dozen-plus titles — try a few to find the family that fits your reflexes.

History and context

Arcade games trace to 1971's Computer Space and 1972's Pong (the first commercially successful electronic game). The "golden age" of arcades (1978-1984) gave the world Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Galaga, defining the genre. Home consoles and personal computers eventually moved the form factor, but the core arcade design — quick rounds, immediate feedback, score chase — survives in every casual mobile game today.

Free to play. Platform Runner is part of the Ice Cheetah Gaming House library — 74 free browser games across nine categories. No real-money wagering, no signup, no downloads. Play instantly in your browser.
